Plastic is all around us; in your home, university, shops, restaurants and even as you walk down the high street you\u2019ll pass plastic products. But unfortunately, each year approximately 8.8 million tons<\/a> of plastic waste ends up in the World\u2019s oceans which endangers wildlife, pollutes the water, and puts human health at risk.<\/p>\n

Some plastic products are hard wearing and used for long-term purposes. However, approximately 40% of the plastic waste is made up of single-use items. This includes items such as straws, water bottles and bags. But with just a few small changes to your day-to-day life, you can help to make a big difference towards reducing the amount of waste that ends up in the ocean.
