But sometimes, a quick 5 minutes out of your day to focus on your wellbeing can be all you need to make a difference.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\">How to take care of your mental health:<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>So, with <a href=\"https:\/\/wfmh.global\/world-mental-health-day-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Mental Health Day<\/a> this coming Saturday (10th October), we\u2019ve listed 25 things you can do to take some time out from your daily routine to focus on yourself and your mental health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>1.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Call a friend or family member for a chat and a catch up.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>2.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Write down 5 things you\u2019re grateful for.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>3.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Sit outside or by a window and just listen to the world.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>4.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Send someone you love a text message to let them know you\u2019re thinking of them.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>5.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Read a book (or at least make a start by reading a chapter).<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>6.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Play some music and dance like no-one\u2019s watching.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>7.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> Share a photo of you and your friends on social media and tag them in it to remind them of a good\/funny memory.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>8.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Keep a diary and write down your feelings and talk about your experiences.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>9.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> Get outside and enjoy the sunlight; whether it\u2019s a walk around the block, a jog around the park or simply sitting on a bench outside your accommodation.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>10.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Take part in a quiz (virtual or in person).<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>11.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Complete a jigsaw puzzle.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>12.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Play your favourite song or listen to your favourite artist\u2019s album.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>13.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Have a video call with your friends.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>14.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Find a recipe and cook something new for your lunch or dinner.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>15.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Do a home workout.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>16.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Have a tidy of your room\/workspace.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>17.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Bake a sweet treat and share with your flatmates (or enjoy all to yourself).<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>18.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Watch your favourite movie or an episode of the latest TV series.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>19.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Think about what you want to achieve in the future and write it down so you have something to work towards.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>20.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Have a digital detox and put your phone away for an hour.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>21.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> Reflect on your past achievements and how far you\u2019ve come in the past year.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>22.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Buy your favourite food in your next shop.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>23.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Make a cup of tea and enjoy it with no distractions.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>24.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Meet up with a friend for a coffee (and cake).<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #bc55a0;\"><strong>25.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Do something creative such as draw, paint, write, make a video, play an instrument.<\/p>\n<p>For even more ways to look after your health and wellbeing, download our poster below:<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn btn--grape\" style=\"color: #fff;\" href=\"https:\/\/host-students.com\/app\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Host-50-ways-to-take-care-of-your-mental-health.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download Poster<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Having good mental health is so important for a happy and healthy life.
