(Read on for our bonus content; top tips for completing your UCAS application form.)<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t worry or stress over your personal statement; as long as you plan what you want to say and get it proofread as many times as possible, and where possible by a few different people, it\u2019s actually not that bad.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17298 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/host-students.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/UCAS-personal-statement-blog-images-Limited.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"770\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Limited.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>You can only write 47 lines and a maximum of 4,000 characters. There is also a minimum of 1,000 characters, use your limit wisely. So, write the statement in Word, print it, check it and then copy and paste into the UCAS application form when you\u2019re ready to submit.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17294 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/host-students.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Be-honest-with-your-UCAS-application.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"770\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Honesty.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Be honest and think about what makes you interesting, what makes you special or unique? Try and show your passion for the courses you\u2019re applying to.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17296 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/host-students.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Map-out-your-ideas.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"770\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Map out your ideas.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Before going in full speed, think about what you want to say, add these as bullet points and then build them up into paragraphs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17297 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/host-students.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/UCAS-personal-statement-ABC.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"770\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>ABC.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Remember ABC when writing your UCAS personal statement.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A<\/strong>ctivity: what have you done?<\/li>\n<li><strong>B<\/strong>enefit: How has this benefited you?<\/li>\n<li><strong>C<\/strong>ourse: How is this related to the course that you\u2019re applying for?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wherever possible evidence your statements using ABC, don\u2019t just list your achievements.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>\u00be Academic. <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>75% of your personal statement should cover your academic strengths, motivations and interests, basically, why did you choose this course? Structure your statement to reflect the skills and qualities the uni\u2019s value most, you could always use the course descriptions to help you.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-17292 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/host-students.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/\u00bc-Soft.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"770\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00bc Soft. <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The remaining 25% of the statement should cover skills not directly related to your application. And also details everything that the university, you\u2019re applying to, need to know about you.<br \/>\nRemember you can only apply once in an application cycle.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 10px;\">All applications are processed through UCAS.com and the application form is pretty simple to use, so don\u2019t worry too much.<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 10px;\">The education section will detail what you are studying now and what grades you are predicted to get. So you don\u2019t need to include these details in your UCAS personal statement.<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 10px;\">You don\u2019t have to complete it in one marathon section. You can do little bits of the UCAS application form over time. You\u2019re able to save sections and come back to them at a later date. Just remember to keep your login details in a safe place.<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 10px;\">The UCAS application form is split into nine sections and you can\u2019t submit your application until these have been completed. So there\u2019s no chance of you accidentally missing a section.<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 10px;\">You will need a reference. A reference is a written recommendation from a teacher, adviser or professional who knows you <strong>academically<\/strong>. Everyone who completes a UCAS application form will need a reference. Within the application form, there&#8217;s a search function that allows you to search for the universities and courses you want. The form will allow you to edit and remove these as many times as you want before you submit the application form. You don\u2019t need to put them in order of preference. Most importantly the universities won\u2019t know who else you have applied to.<\/li>\n<li style=\"padding-bottom: 10px;\">There\u2019s an application fee.
